Gem of the Week: Ruby

This week we turn our attention to ruby, a member of the corundum family. It shares this distinction with sapphire. In fact, all other colors than red are considered sapphires. In order to be a ruby, the color must be red – Brilliant, beautiful red.

Traditionally ruby is the stone of love, and that symbolism shines through the metaphysical properties attributed to it. As an adjunct to other treatment, ruby is said to help further along the healing of both heart and muscle ailments. This belief is specifically aligned with the thought that emotional problems can cause physical symptoms and disease.

On an emotional level, ruby takes center stage in healing a wounded heart and other emotional upsets. This stone is great for treating self-esteem and depression issues, teaching the wearer to express love on all levels towards themselves and others. It helps bring about a non-destructive passion for life, aids motivation, and encourages us to make goals.

Wear ruby and find your world open to the fortune of love and joy!
